Walter Gerald “Jerry” Falk
July 10, 1937 - August 27, 2020
Jerry left this world to be with the Lord on August 27, 2020. He was 83.
Jerry was born on July 10, 1937 in Commerce, Okla., to Walter A. Falk and Treffel B. (Trotter) Falk. When Jerry was four years old, his family moved to Lynwood where they stayed until he was 15. At that age his family moved to Modesto. He attended Downey High School where he met his future bride, Katharine (Kitty) Mae Davis. They married in 1953 and had their first child, David. In 1955 they moved back to his childhood home of Lynwood. There he landed his career job at Norris Industries (then Norris Thermadore) where he went on to become a supervisor and product manager. The Falks had two more children, daughters Christi and Lori. In the early 1960s, they bought their first home in Bellflower.
Jerry loved racing T Track on his BSA Gold Star dirt bike. He was a member of the Jackrabbits MC along with his buddies, Rodger, Norm, Dick and Nate, from 1959 until 1968.
Jerry and Kitty went their separate ways in 1966.
In 1968 Jerry met his second love Eleanor “Faye” Farrow. In March 1971, they moved to Ceres. Along with Faye’s four children, Eddie, Rick, Susan and Roberta, they set up a home and purchased a bar called Doug’s Den, which they owned for decades. They were married in September 1971. Jerry also continued to work for Norris at their plant in Riverbank. He retired in 1989 at the age of 53.
Jerry loved to hunt and fish with his good friend Jerry Roberts. He also enjoyed playing golf, crabbing and craw fishing.
His three children, three stepchildren, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren survive him. Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, big brother Lloyd “Bud” Zimmerman, little sister Kay Lynn Pickup, loving wife Faye, stepdaughter Susan and grandson Derrick.
