St. Vincent de Paul Society grateful for the donations
Letters

Editor, Ceres Courier,

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Jude Church in Ceres distributed more than 130 baskets of food and toys to local families in December. We would like to acknowledge and thank the generous donors and supporters that helped make the giveaway a success.

A very heartfelt thank you goes out to Henry Lopez and his car club friends for all of the fabulous toys which enabled children to receive one or more toys for Christmas.

Thank you also to Gemperle Enterprises for the eggs, D&S Farms in Atwater for the yams, Scott Long of Ceres for the oranges, Jim and Kathy Casey for the boxes, SafeTLite of Modesto for the drive thru cones, Franklin Elementary School in Modesto for canned goods, Steve Bain and Healthy Aging for canned goods, Tim Sanders of Ceres for the squash, Second Harvest of the Greater Valley in Manteca for food and gift cards, Cost Less in Ceres for groceries and Shane Parson and the local FFA groups that donated a generous amount of canned goods.

A special thanks goes out to the St. Jude parishioners who donated money, food and toys for the giveaway as well as volunteering their time for this annual project.

The organization continues to operate their weekly food pantry on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., helping to meet the food needs of low-income families in our community.
