Ceres High varsity girls secure split, move to 2-2 in Western Athletic Conference

Ceres High School's varsity girls basketball team beat Pacheco and lost to Patterson in Western Athletic Conference play this past week.

The Bulldogs dropped to 2-2 in the WAC standings following Thursday's 50-29 road loss to first-place Patterson.

Bryce Ford collected a team-high 14 points in defeat.

Nicole Bates and Dia Borden finished with six points each.

Ryleigh Honberger added two points.

Kyndal Chapman had one point.

Ceres High failed to reach double figures in scoring in the first, second and fourth quarters.

The Bulldogs trailed 25-11 at the break.

Ceres High blasted Pacheco 47-16 on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.

Ford (20 points) outscored the entire Panthers team.

Bates, Edith Peralta and Honberger tallied eight, six and five points, respectively.

Borden and Alyssa Sanchez both contributed three points.

Chapman had two points.

Ceres High outscored Pacheco 26-4 after intermission, including 12-1 in the final period.

The Bulldogs will play at crosstown-rival Central Valley on Jan. 22 and host to second-place Central Catholic on Jan. 24.

Both games will begin at 7:30 p.m.
