George Costa Ball Field Complex will be the host site for the Pony Baseball Mustang Super Region Tournament, July 21-24.

A total of eight teams will participate at the double-elimination tournament, including the Ceres Blaze 10-and-under travel squad.

"We have high expectations," head coach Jorge Guerrero said. "Our goal is to win this tournament."

Ceres carries an impressive 37-11-1 overall record into the tournament.

The Blaze have placed first four times this season.

Ceres erased an eight-run deficit on its way to beating Riverbank 14-13 in the championship game of the USSSA NCTB State Championship Tournament on July 10.

The Blaze also claimed titles at the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta (Manteca) in May, Opening Weekend Tournament (Stockton) in April and Presidents Day Super NIT (Twin Creeks) in February.

"I feel comfortable using any of my players at any point of any game," Guerrero said.
Ceres will face Rocklin on Thursday at 8 p.m.

"I went to Pittsburg last week to check out the teams we'll be playing against," Guerrero said. "We have a good group of kids who can take us to the next round. It's a great advantage to be playing at home. Everybody will step up to the challenge."
