Bicyclist riding wrong way arrested on felony warrant

Riding his bicycle the wrong way down the street flagged the attention of a Ceres Police officer who then recognized Earl Chapman as being wanted on a felony arrest warrant Monday morning.

At 9:35 a.m., Officer Steve Carvalho was on patrol in the area of Whitmore and Third Street when he the wanted 56-year-old Ceres man and conducted a traffic stop on him. He was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

Chapman has a history of grand theft and firearms violations.
