Canine pulls out auto theft suspect
Ceres Cop Car

A Ceres police canine helped to pull an auto theft suspect out of hiding Sunday evening moments after he allegedly stole a green 1993 Acura from the Walmart parking lot.

The owner of the car called 911 at 11:50 p.m. to report the car missing. Two minutes later, Officer Jesus Salinas spotted the Acura as it turned onto Wallin Way from Hatch Road. Salinas followed the vehicle when the driver bailed from the car and it drifted off the road at Lehi Avenue and Wallin Way. The suspect, Kenneth Davis, 33, of Keyes, ran into the neighborhood. Police set up a perimeter around the neighborhood and 30 minutes located Davis hiding under a vehicle parked at Leeseme Lane and Changason Way. Davis refused orders to come out and was concealing a hand. A police canine was released and tore into Davis and pulled him out.

Davis was charged with auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, violating the terms of his parole and resisting arrest.
