A man who was pulled over on Thursday evening for vehicle code violations was later arrested and booked on a felony warrant for possession of a firearm.

At 8:42 p.m., Officer Juan Ramos was on patrol in the area of Whitmore Avenue and Ninth Street when he stopped a white Ford Econoline van and learned through a routine records check that driver Stephen Cordova, 54, of Ceres had a warrant for his arrest.

Cordova was arrested and later transported to the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
