CERES MAN JAILED FOR METH PIPE, WARRANTS
A 39-year-old Ceres man was arrested Tuesday afternoon, July 21 after he was found in Independence Park on warrants and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 1:58 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Greg Houser was patrolling the park at 1639 Paramount Avenue when he made contact with several people hanging out there, one of whom was Michael Delreal. Officer Houser spied on the ground a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, to which Delreal claimed ownership. During a records check, the officer learned that Delreal had a felony warrant for his arrest for vandalism and a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest for a prior drug charge.
Delreal was arrested for the two warrants and possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
TWO LOITERERS ARRESTED ON VARIOUS CHARGES
Two persons who were loitering before a closed business were taken into custody on various charges on Thursday evening.
At approximately 9:57 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Christian Diaz was patrolling the area of Richland Avenue and Hatch Road when he observed two persons loitering near a closed business. He approached Jade Wortham, 20, and Raymond Souza, 41, both of Modesto, and observed a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine next to Souza. As Souza began to move, he knocked over a black case containing pieces of aluminum foil and a straw. Officer Diaz searched the case to find a white powdery substance suspected of being fentanyl.
Souza initially lied about his true identity but through the investigation, Officer Diaz learned his name.
A records check was conducted on Souza and Wortham which revealed that Souza had four felony warrants for his arrest to include drug related charges and auto theft while Wortham was found to have five misdemeanor warrants for her arrest, several of which were also drug related.
Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, Wortham for her warrants and Souza for warrants as well as possession of a controlled substance with two or more priors, possession of drug paraphernalia and impersonation of another person.
CERES OFFICER APPREHENDS AUTO THEFT SUSPECT IN DOWNTOWN MODESTO
A Ceres police officer who was returning to Ceres from the Stanislaus County Superior Court made a stop on a stolen car in downtown Modesto on Monday morning.
At 9:02 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Charles Lord-Huff was in the area of Ninth Street near F Street when he observed a white-colored Nissan pickup that was reported as stolen. Officer Lord-Huff followed the vehicle as he called for additional units to respond. Once the driver pulled into the entrance of a parking garage in the 900 block of 11th Street, Officer Lord-Huff conducted a high-risk stop on the vehicle which was occupied by driver Jose Huerta Madrigal, 34, of Modesto and passenger Johnna Fields, 34, also of Modesto. Additional officers arrived to assist in getting both occupants out of the vehicle and detaining them.
During a records check, it was determined that Huerta Madrigal had a felony warrant for his arrest for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle; and Fields had a felony warrant for her arrest for possession of a controlled substance for sales.
Huerta Madrigal was arrested for the felony warrant, auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle and Fields was arrested on her felony warrant. Both subjects were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
CERES WOMAN FACES DUI CHARGE IN COURT
A 63-year-old Ceres woman was have to answer to a charge in court that she was driving while intoxicated.
Ceres Police Officer Tyler Wilson was patrolling the area of Rose Avenue and Garrison Street at 11:55 p.m. on Monday evening, when he stopped Ma Del Garcia for vehicle code violations in a
Honda Accord. Upon making contract with Del Garcia, Officer Wilson suspected she was under the influence of alcohol.
Officer Andy Oropeza arrived on scene and conducted a DUI investigation which she performed in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol. Garcia was arrested for DUI and provided breath samples that showed she was over double the legal limit to drive. She was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI.
