Lovepreet Singh, 24, of Ceres was arrested Thursday evening, March 5 after he refused to pull over for a burned-out taillight and led police on a high-speed chase into Turlock.

At 10:02 p.m., Officer Charles Rushing noticed a motorcycle speeding southbound on Mitchell Road and attempted to stop the rider for the equipment violation. Singh accelerated onto the southbound on-ramp of Highway 99, weaving in and out of traffic as it reached speeds close to 100 mph. Officer Rushing pursued the motorcycle until Singh exited at the Monte Vista exit in Turlock. It appeared as if Singh was going to get back onto southbound Highway 99 but Officer Rushing gained on him and the motorcycle pulled over.

Singh was arrested on charges of reckless driving on the highway, probation violations and driving on a suspended license.
