An early Wednesday, March 23 traffic stop on the driver of a white 2011 Infiniti G37 for speeding and expired registration was jailed on DUI and illegal gun possession.

At 12:23 a.m., Officer Matthew Myers found that driver Isidro Perez, 30, of Ceres, was uncooperative and initially refused to identify himself.  He displayed signs of being intoxicated by drugs or alcohol. When Perez stepped out of the vehicle for a field sobriety test, a loaded handgun was seen in the floorboard along with an alcoholic beverage container.

After the DUI investigation, Perez was arrested for being under the influence. A breath test further proved that he was legally under the influence.

Perez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of being a felon in possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm without a serial number, driving under the influence, and driving with a suspended license due to a prior DUI.
