EMPIRE – A 27-year-old paraprofessional at Alice Stroud Elementary School was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Jail last month on charges of lewd and lascivious act with a minor under the age of 14, sending harmful material to a minor, annoying and molesting a minor, willful harm to a minor and stalking.

Sheila Tierra Ochoa is currently being held in custody on $395,000 bail.

Authorities were called with the allegations about Ochoa on May 26. Detectives with the Special Victims Unit (SVU) believe that she began having inappropriate contact with the student four years ago when Ochoa was a school yard duty at the school.

Detectives continued to investigate to determine if there are other victims and locate any evidence.
