Equipment violations lead to warrant arrests in separate traffic stops

Two wanted men were arrested over the weekend in separate traffic stops conducted for equipment violations.

On Saturday evening Officer Eric Souza conducted a 10:42 p.m. traffic stop on the driver of a Honda Accord with a missing front license plate. Driver Jimmy Groves, 36, of Ceres, was found to have a no-bail warrant for absconding from probation and was arrested.

At 6:21 p.m. on Sunday Officer Eric Souza stopped a vehicle with a visual obstruction in the windshield. Driver Charlie Odell, 41, of Modesto, was found to be on parole and had two no-bail warrants for his arrest, one issued by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the second by the San Joaquin County Sheriff Department.
