A 30-year-old Ceres man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he led police on a chase after an initial stop for speeding and riding on one wheel.

At 12:48 p.m., Ceres Police Sgt. Darren Venn was watching traffic at Don Pedro and Blaker roads when he saw a motorcyclist speeding northbound. Sgt. Venn attempted to make an enforcement stop on motorcyclist Justin Chappotin, 30, of Ceres by activating emergency lights and siren, but the rider became evasive. A pursuit went throughout the area until Chappotin bailed from his motorcycle and ran off in the Hackett Road and Morgan Avenue area. He was captured by Officer Jeffery Godfrey.

Chappotin was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of evading a peace officer and driving without a license.
