Gun, drugs found in car stopped on Hatch Road

 A Monday evening car stop on Hatch Road led police to find a gun, ammunition and drugs.

At 10:35 p.m., Officer Graham conducted a traffic stop on a green Toyota Tercel with expired registration in the 1400 block of Hatch Road. Driver, Hector Gaxiola, 36, of Gustine, was found to have a no-bail warrant for his arrest issued by the U.S. Marshall’s office. He was arrested and the car searched.

Passenger Joe Villa, 42, of Modesto was removed from the vehicle while an inventory search was conducted prior to it being towed. A bag containing a stolen loaded handgun and several rounds of ammunition was located in the vehicle. Also in the vehicle, officers located a bag containing suspected methamphetamine and marijuana as well as packaging materials. Villa was arrested and booked for possession for sale of a controlled substance.

Gaxiola was booked for possession of a stolen loaded firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession for sales of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
