A 46-year-old Modesto driver faces charges that he was drunk while hitting another vehicle on Saturday afternoon and fleeing the scene.

Ceres Police Sgt. Jose Berber said that at 1 p.m. a non-injury hit and run crash occurred as Roger Andrew Rowe, 46, of Modesto, exited the AM/PM parking lot at Mitchell Road to make a left turn onto southbound Mitchell Road. In the process he broadsided a silver 2003 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Madera resident Jesse Vincent Martinez. Only moderate damage was done to the pickup so Martinez chased after Rowe, following him eastbound on Service Road, northbound on Esmar Road, west on Roeding Road and then officers found Rowe at Mitchell and Roeding roads.

Rowe was arrested and booked for hit and run and suspicion of DUI.
