A 20-year-old man was jailed Thursday evening for allegedly physically attacking another person who sustained severe facial and head injuries.

At 9:49 p.m., Officer Matthew Myers and other officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Dale Court for reports of a male beating another male. They located Jorge Vicenciomendoza, 20, sitting in a vehicle which the caller stated was responsible in the attack. Officer Myers noticed blood on the driver and in the interior of the vehicle and detained Vicenciomendoza. 

Officer Myers rendered medical aid to the victim until fire and ambulance personnel arrived. 

After an investigation was conducted, Vicenciomendoza was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury.
