Talwinder Bains, 32, of Modesto, was arrested Thursday evening after he fled a Ceres police officer, presumably to thwart arrest for violating the terms of his probation for domestic violence and resisting arrest.

Bains was arrested for probation violation and resisting arrest.

Officer Kiashira Ruiz attempted to stop Bains near the AM/PM at Hatch Road and Richland Avenue at 11:05 p.m. but he tried to flee despite the officer using lights and siren. As Bains tried to cross Hatch Road and its median he crashed, allowing Officer Ruiz to arrest him.
