Officers found the injured man lying in the gutter at the southeast corner at 9:59 p.m. The victim was unconscious, unresponsive, and bleeding from the head. It appeared he suffered a broken lower leg, head fracture, and a possible broken arm. Police believe the man, wearing dark clothing, was crossing Hatch Road southbound against a red light. He was approximately 10 feet from the curb when a vehicle struck him at approximately 40 mph.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and was cooperative with officers.
