A traffic stop in which two Ceres officers detected the strong smell of marijuana landed a man on searchable probation in the County Jail for possession of methamphetamine.

At 11:19 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, Shane Dimter, 28, was driving in the 1600 block of Richland Avenue when he was pulled over by Ceres Police officers Jesse Gutierrez and Krandall Vandagriff. When it was learned that Dimter is on searchable probation they conducted a search of his car and found a small amount of marijuana and methamphetamine.

Dimter was booked for meth possession and probation violation.
