A 35-year-old Stockton woman was arrested Monday afternoon as she was allegedly attempting to steal an entire grocery cart full of merchandise at the Ceres Walmart Supercenter.

At 4:09 p.m. Officer Kiashira Ortiz (formerly Ruiz) was on patrol in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter when she was flagged down by a Walmart employee pointing to an alleged thief quickly pushing a shopping cart through the parking lot.

Officer Ortiz detained Antonitta White, 35 of Stockton, as she was attempting to quickly load up a Chrysler 200 with the stolen merchandise. White provided a false name but Officer Ortiez was able to determine White’s true identity. A records check revealed White had two felony arrest warrants.

Officer Ortiz recovered nearly $440 in stolen merchandise which was turned back to Walmart.

White was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for shoplifting, impersonation and the two felony warrants.
