Police say that a burned and abandoned house at 1826 Walnut Avenue has been a place where car thieves are stripping and abandoning stolen vehicles in Ceres. In fact, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry, three cars have been discovered at the abandoned property between March 12 and March 27.

The city's code enforcement unit is working to have the property declared a public nuisance and cleared of the burned-out house, said Perry.
