Suspect, 35, arrested trying to break into cars

Ceres Police arrested a man who was allegedly attempting to break into cars in front of a Hatch Road business in broad daylight on Tuesday, May 3.

The suspect, Tomas Ramirez, 35, was also found carrying around suspected methamphetamine.

Officer Samuel Becerra was dispatched to the 1600 block of Hatch Road at 9:52 a.m., on reports of a man attempting to break into vehicles in the parking lot of dd’s discounts. A description was given to Officer Becerra who located the man in front of the store. Witnesses confirmed Ramirez was the suspect.

Ramirez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of attempted vehicle burglary and possession of an illegal substance.
