Suspicious about two vehicles parked near a closed business in the 1700 block of Mitchell Road, Ceres Police Officer Jon Vera went in to investigate Tuesday evening, Nov. 26 and found one of two men in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

Officer Vera drove into the parking lot at 11 p.m. and saw two men standing between the cars. Because Anthony Vargas, 38, of Turlock, was on searchable probation, Vera conducted a search and found him with a small Ziploc baggy containing the drugs. Vargas was arrested and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance
