Walmart trespasser gave police fake name, had meth in his pocket

A man who was reported to be trespassing inside the Ceres Walmart Supercenter on Wednesday evening, Feb. 8 gave arresting officers a fake name before he was booked.

The store called police at 7:09 p.m. to report that James Garcia, 34, of Modesto was trespassing inside the store.

Officer Brian Chandler located Garcia, who provided a false name. He was later identified and found to be wanted on several felony arrest warrants. Officers searched Garcia’s pockets and found a baggie of methamphetamine.

Garcia was booked for the warrants and new charges of trespassing, providing a false name to officers and possession of a controlled substance.
