A Roeding Road family was displaced after a fire destroyed their home in a Thursday evening fire.
The fire broke out at approximately 4:31 p.m. in the 2600 block of Roeding Road prompting Modesto Fire to respond with five fire engines, the Quint ladder truck and two battalion chiefs along with a medic. While en route dispatchers relayed information about a possible resident still inside however Ceres Police confirmed all occupants were out of the structure. By the time the first unit arrived the fire was well involved with a live power line down in the front yard.
Firefighters managed to quickly extinguish the fire and salvage the uninvolved parts of the house to protect what was left of the occupant’s belongings.
The fire is currently under investigation.
One resident of the home was transported to a local hospital with smoke inhalation.
