The Ceres Police Department and Sam’s Cafe invites the community to join in the annual fundraiser benefitting Special Olympics of Northern California.

A special event will take place from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 24.

Ceres Police officers and officials will be present to serve food and discuss the agency’s involvement with the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Donations are gladly accepted with all proceeds going to Special Olympics Northern California.

Ceres Police Sgt. Jeffery Godfrey serves on the Executive Committee of the Special Olympics of Northern California, assigned to work with law enforcement agencies in Stanislaus, Merced and San Joaquin counties. The primary fundraiser is the police torch run, which involves approximately 200 police agencies and 2,600 officers running in Northern California. It is the largest fundraising vehicle for Special Olympics.
