Some are confused about the next Ceres Gateway Center additions

There has been some confusion on social media about what business is going into one of two remaining buildings to be filled in the Ceres Gateway Center.

Recently a Facebook user wondered what business will occupy the building just south of the Mitchell Road entrance into Ceres’ newest shopping center. As is typical, some guessed while others expressed what they wanted to see Ceres snag.

The real answer is that a Union 76 gas station and convenience store will occupy the building with an accessory fast-food restaurant. Senior Planner Teddie Hernandez announced at the last meeting of the Ceres Planning Commission that Nick the Greek is preparing to locate in half of the building.

Some of the confusion is due to yet another Panda Express project approved earlier this month by the Ceres Planning Commission for the parcel south of the Union 76 building.

The new Panda is the last development to occur in the Ceres Gateway Center. The last business to open will be the four-story Woodspring Inn & Suites.

The new Panda will consist of a 2,623 square foot building with dual drive-thru lanes in the southernmost parcel adjacent to the northbound onramp.

Nick the Greek will offer Ceres pitas, gyros, souvlaki, falafels and Grecian burgers. The chain is expanding into the Valley with one open in Riverbank and plans to open in Modesto, Ceres, Turlock, Manteca, Lathrop, Stockton and Tracy. Predominantly located in California, Nick the Greek is also established in Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Utah and Missouri.

Other businesses located in the Ceres Gateway Center are Quick Quack Car Wash, Chipotle, Ono Hawaiian Grill, In-n-Out Burger, Starbucks, Popeye’s Chicken and Tractor Supply.
