A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F Street, Oakdale, for Dorothy Olenick, 78, of Ceres. She died Dec. 18, 2008 after struggling with Alzheimer's Disease.

Born Oct. 5, 1930, Mrs. Olenick was a native of San Gabriel. She was married to her late husband Paul for 56 years. With her husband she owned and operated a full service drapery business for 45 years in Northern and Southern California while raising their family. Mrs. Olenick spent her life actively involved in many community organizations, scouting, the Ceres Senior Citizens Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and the Alzheimers support group. She was a caregiver for Paul after his stroke up to his death 12 years later. Mrs. Olenick was a gifted artist, avid gardener and loved to entertain.

Dorothy had four children, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
