Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Allen Mortuary for Homer Lee Morgan, 75, of Modesto. He died June 6, 2009 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at First Pentecostal Church of God, 1850 E. Hatch Road, Ceres.

Burial will follow at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born October 1933 to Marvin and Ivy Morgan in Dermott, Ark., Homer was raised there until the age of 16, when he moved to Redondo Beach. He settled in Modesto in 1968 and had worked for Gallo Winery for 14 years. He had served in the ministry since 1984. God and family were his life.

He leaves behind his wife, Mary Morgan of Modesto; his children, Judy Enos of Modesto and Mary Jane Templeton of Oklahoma; his sisters, Rachel Nicholson and Gloria Jean Crenshaw; his brother, Johnny Morgan; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Bobby Lee Morgan.
