A funeral service was held Tuesday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Noreene Willson, 79, of Hughson. She died on Aug. 9, 2007 at home surrounded by her family.
Interment was at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born in Modesto to Clarence and Louisa Olmstead, Noreene grew up in El Dorado and Yountville. After she graduated from Napa High School, she returned to Modesto with her family where she met and married Marvin D. Willson. They moved to the Hughson-Hickman area where they farmed peaches, almonds, chickens, raised their children, and enjoyed 58 years together.
Mrs. Willson was an active member of the Hughson Untied Methodist Church, Hughson High School Sports Booster Club, Hickman PTA and Hickman 4-H Club. She enjoyed traveling across the United States in an RV with her husband, Marvin. Mrs. Willson also enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren.
She leaves behind her husband Marvin Willson of Hughson; her children, Greg Willson, Jamie Willson, Susan Earl and Ellen Fahey; her brothers, Swede Olmstead and Hank Olmstead, both of Napa; two sisters, Bugsie Petros of Modesto and Emyle Rabe of Washington; and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her infant son and her brother Smokey Olmstead.
