A funeral service was held Monday at the San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella for Rafael Arthuro Hernandez, 65, of Los Banos. The former Ceres resident died Nov. 12, 2011.

Born April 13, 1946 in Del Rio Texas, Ralph moved to California at age 5. He graduated from San Jose High in 1964, and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2001 from the City of San Jose and moved to Ceres. Mr. Hernandez then moved to Los Banos in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, Nascar, the Denver Broncos, listening to country music, dancing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife Dolores Hernandez; his children, Ralph, Lisa, Becky, Lisa, Isaac and Buzz; his brothers, Ricardo Hernandez, Roberto Padilla and Sisters, Rosalva Hernandez and Virginia Alvarez; and 10 grandchildren and a great grandson.
