A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday at Hughson Free Will Baptist Church for Wayne Lloyd McCuistion, 60, of Ceres. He died Jan. 21, 2008 in Modesto.

Born May 31, 1947, Mr. McCuistion was born in Modesto to Charles and Mable McCusition. He graduated from Modesto High School in 1966. Wayne served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged April 1, 1971. He received the Navy Combat V award for heroic achievement in combat for saving numerous wounded soldiers from the battlefields. Wayne then went on to graduate from Modesto Junior College and with honors from Stanislaus State University where he earned associate and bachelor degrees in Sociology. He loved his family, gardening, refinishing furniture, Hawaiian shirts and the 49ers.

He leaves behind his wife, Anna McCuistion of Ceres; two daughters, Elizabeth McCuistion of San Francisco and Kathleen McCuistion of Ceres; his sisters, Ethel Pankey and Pansey McCuistion, both of Glendale, Ariz., and Mary Burnt; and two brothers, Gwinn McCuistion and William McCuistion, both of California.
