Shocked Condit wouldn’t even consider apartment complex
Letters to Editor.jpg

Editor, Ceres Courier,

I was a bit angered and shocked to read that only one member of the City Council didn’t even want to hold a public hearing about the proposed apartment complex for Mitchell Road. That one councilman was Channce Condit. He didn’t even want to give the apartment complex a chance and voted not to hold the hearing to talk about it.

There are some of us who are not as fortunate as the Condit family of politicians to buy homes and we must rent and the apartments are getting expensive because there are not enough of them. I read an article in the Courier that said Ceres hasn’t built apartments in about 15 years. I realize that some renters have a bad rap but this project is supposed to be for people stuck in between low income and not enough income to buy a home. Even then home prices are also so expensive because there aren’t enough of them to go around. I’m glad that the rest of the council isn’t so narrow minded that they don’t want to consider apartments.

Maria Hidalgo-Ruiz,

Ceres
