The Ceres Jr. Bulldogs starts youth football team's run of excellence culminated with a 28-6 win over the El Capitan Gauchos in the 2016 CVGYF Super Bowl on Nov. 19 at Turlock High School.

The Jr. Bulldogs didn't lose a single game this year.

Ceres had 11 wins, no losses and one tie.

"I've been coaching for eight years," Jr. Bulldogs leader Abel Herrera said. "This is the best group of kids I've had. They're talented. They worked hard. They had fun."

Ceres' Andre Flores gained 185 yards and scored two touchdowns against El Capitan.

Flores also had 70 yards and one TD passing.

Andre rushed for 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns this season.

"He excels in every sport he does," Herrera said. "I coach him in baseball. He's one of my ace pitchers."

Flores scored on a 35-yard run and tossed a 30-yard TD pass to Adrian Herrera in the opening half.

Charles Price had a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter.

Flores raced 50 yards for a TD in the fourth quarter.

The Jr. Bulldogs limited the Gauchos to just one touchdown.

Adrian Herrera forced three fumbles.

"We're strong in a lot of areas but our defense is the strength of our team," Abel Herrera said.

Ceres players and coaches posed for a group picture with their Super Bowl trophies after the championship game.

"The best part was seeing the smiles on the kids' faces," coach Herrera said. "A lot of them played last year for other teams and didn't win a game."
