Ceres High battled Grace Davis, while Central Valley faced Buhach Colony on Friday.

“I think the team did great during this meet,” Bulldogs’ head coach Angelique Huerta said. “Everyone showed up prepared to compete and in the correct mindset. I believe a lot of their success has to do with how they’re practicing as well. They are showing up every day focused and always looking to improve.”

Ceres High’s girls team dropped to 1-6 in the Western Athletic Conference dual standings after losing 92-68 to the Spartans.

Ceres High’s boys team dropped to 0-7 in the WAC after suffering an 81-33 loss.

“Our team records are not going to be the greatest because we usually have a small team,” Huerta said. “However, each athlete has impressed me with their improvements this year. We have athletes that are setting new personal records. We also have athletes that are diving off the block for the first time as well as athletes that are making slight improvements to their technique. As a coach it’s amazing to see these major and minor improvements and I cannot wait to see how they do at our league meet.”
