A 29-year-old Modesto woman was released on a citation Saturday morning for driving while intoxicated after she cut a corner and nearly clipped a Ceres patrol vehicle.

Not only did Jessica Estrada, 29, of Modesto get cited for DUI but her Honda was impounded for registration that expired in 2014.

At 10:52 a.m., Officer Matthew Myers was eastbound on Giddings Road approaching Richland Avenue when Estrada’s Honda CRX cut the corner onto westbound Giddings Road and nearly hit Officer Myer’s car.

Myers stopped Estrada and noticed numerous open marijuana and liquor containers and smelled marijuana inside the vehicle.

Officer Myers conducted a DUI investigation and determined that Estrada was under the influence. Because a “shaved” key was found on her key ring, Estrada faces a charge of possession of burglary tools in addition to making an unsafe turning movement.
