Central Valley High School senior Layla Acosta was recognized as the Ceres Rotary Club’s “Student of the Month” at a Friday meeting of the club.

Acosta was noted as a dedicated senior with a genuine, giving, and fun loving personality who leaves a lasting impact on the CV campus.

Layla has spent three years in Leadership and four years in ASB, discovering her confidence while encouraging fellow students to embrace high school life. She is also a member of the Central Valley High School Impulse dance team. She serves as president of the STEP Club for aspiring educators, and leads the Asian-American Pacific Islander Club. Proud of her Filipino heritage, she loves celebrating her inclusive, welcoming attitude and the incredible Filipino food.

While overcoming the challenge of balancing rigorous academics with numerous activities, she often gives up lunches or stays late to serve her fellow students with empathy and dedication.

Layla hopes to attend UCLA to study dance, marketing and communications.
