Members of the Ceres Rotary Club and officials from Louie Arrollo Junior High School recognized eighth-grader Jaslyn Montes De Oca as a “Rotary Student of the Month” on Friday.

Jaslyn is a member of the junior high’s Student Government class and hosts schoolwide activities. She has maintained a 3.85 Grade Point Average (GPA) this school year. She enjoys visiting the public library every couple of weeks with her sisters. During her free time, she may be found studying and thoroughly preparing for her classes. Jaslyn is considered by the school as a true leader who is a self-starter, motivator and friend to all. She is a positive, conscientious young lady who embodies leadership qualities that make her a shining star headed for an exceptional future.

Off campus, Jaslyn plays travel ball, currently playing first or second base. She also enjoys making jewelry, including bracelets and necklaces which she sells during her family’s yard sales. She loves spending time with her family.

In the future, she is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field as either a pharmacist or pediatrician.
