Three officers were required to pin down a man who was fighting them on Wednesday, Oct. 8 during what Sgt. Joe Wren called a "meth psychosis."

At 6:27 p.m. police were called to the 1900 block of Darrah Street by the mother of Joseph Gill, saying he was erratic and possibly suicidal. He was armed with a butcher knife and shovel in anticipation of officers' arrival. Three patrol units arrived and found Gill inside the house where he was talked out of holding the knife. However as officers moved in to arrest Gill he fought them and kicked at them.

He was arrested and charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting or delaying officers.
