Auto theft arrest made of a Stockton man

A 29-year-old Stockton man was arrested on Wednesday evening, May 5 after he was reported as suspicious asleep in a car parked on a curb outside a Mitchell Road restaurant.

At 8:12 p.m. police found Kishaun Hughes, 29, asleep in a red Nissan Frontier which later turned out to prove stolen from a Ceres owner. It was parked in front of Farmer Boys. Hughes lied about his identity and the license plate did not belong to the vehicle. Hughes was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for auto theft.
