A 45-year-old Ceres woman was arrested on driving while intoxicated charges Wednesday evening, Dec. 16, after she ran her Mercedes Benz into a parked car in the 2300 block of Fourth Street.

Officer Scott Faure was dispatched to the crash site at 11:15 p.m. and found the black Mercedes Benz with front-end damage and a blue Honda with damage. Officer Faure saw driver Elizabeth Huston, 45, of Ceres, exit the Mercedes and asked her what happened. Huston mumbled something and pushed her way past the officer in an attempt to get back in the driver’s seat.

Officer Faure put Huston, who was displaying symptoms of being under the influence, in handcuffs. She said she had not been drinking alcohol but recently smoked marijuana and methamphetamine. Officer Faure conducted a DUI investigation and arrested her on charges of driving while under the influence.
