Couple arrested on warrants
Criminal pair
Marco Soria and Priscilla Garza arrested on warrants after someone reported their suspicious activity.

An officer arrested two persons wanted on charges and seized what may be stolen merchandise in their possession after someone called about suspicious activity on Wednesday morning, Feb. 5.

Officer Eric Souza responded to the 10:45 a.m. call about suspicious activity in the 1300 block of Hatch Road. The caller saw a white man and a Hispanic woman get out of a blue Honda Civic in the parking lot of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. The male was putting on gloves and placing a handgun in his right front pocket. Souza arrived and found Marco Soria, 25, of Modesto and Priscilla Garza, 32, of Ceres walking away from the strip mall at a fast pace.

Soria announced that he was wanted by authorities. A pat-down search of both produced no weapons but Soria’s right front pocket was inside out, as if something had just been removed from it.

Garza was asked for her identification and said it was back where the Honda was parked.

Dispatchers advised that Soria had an outstanding felony warrant issued by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and that Garza was sought by Turlock Police Department for a misdemeanor arrest warrant. Both Garza and Soria were arrested. Inside the Honda police found several brand-new power tools for which the couple could not produce sales receipts. Appearing to be stolen property, the tools were booked into evidence for further investigation and identification.

Soria and Garza were booked for their warrants at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
