CRASH INTO POLE IS DUI RELATED
Ceres Cop Car

Three persons sustained minor injuries after their car ran into a utility pole on Mitchell Road at Roeding Road on Tuesday evening, Sept. 15, in what has been classified as a DUI crash.

None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts in the 11:19 p.m. crash, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry. The driver and two passengers were either intoxicated or under the influence of marijuana, he said.

The arresting officer said he smelled burnt marijuana and saw several open bottles of booze when he investigated the crash.

Driver Cody Rogers, 19, of Ceres, was so drunk he could not stand to complete a field sobriety test, said Lt. Perry. He was arrested and taken to Doctors Medical Center for a blood sample to be used in court when he faced DUI charges.
