Driver Silva jailed on meth charges

A 28-year-old Ceres driver was arrested for methamphetamine possession during a Monday evening, Oct. 17 traffic stop.

The car which was being driven by Justin Silva, 28, of Ceres, had expired registration which grabbed the attention of Officer Mike Vierra in the 330 block of Blaker Road. During the 8:53 p.m. traffic stop Silva was also found to be driving on a suspended driver's license.

Officer Vierra conducted a consent search of Silva and found a small bag containing methamphetamine in his pants pocket. He was arrested and transported to jail where he was booked for driving on a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance.
