Hit and run driver sought
Ceres Cop Car

Police are seeking to identify the man who drove a car into a 51-year-old Modesto woman on Dec. 13, apologized to her and fled the scene.

The 11:38 a.m. crash sent the woman to the hospital for treatment.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber said the female pedestrian had crossed Richland Avenue from the southern exit of the AM/PM at Richland Avenue and Hatch Road when she was sideswiped struck by a gray Mitsubishi four-door hatch back driven by black male in his late 20s who just exited dd's discounts onto northbound Richland. The woman was knocked to the ground. The driver got out of his car and told the woman he was sorry before taking off off.

Witnesses said the car had a partial plate of 642.

Anyone with information on the hit and run is urged to call Officer Jesus Salinas at 538-5712.
