A 19-year-old Ceres man was arrested early Wednesday, Dec. 4 after he was seeing taking items from a parked vehicle in the area of Fowler Road and Saturn Court.

A citizen called 9-1-1 at 1:54 a.m. to report the burglary and Officer Coey Henson was dispatched. By the time he arrived, the suspect, later identified as Christian Jimenez, 19, of Ceres, had fled southbound on Lunar Avenue. 

Officer Eric Souza, who was also responding, saw Jimenez running on Lunar Drive. Officer Souza was able to detain Jimenez who was in possession of a backpack containing items taken from the vehicle. 

Jimenez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of second-degree burglary.
