A 52-year-old Ceres man was arrested during a Saturday afternoon traffic stop for code violations because the trailer he was pulling was reported stolen out of Concord.

Ceres Police Officer Kyle Hatcher was patrolling the area of Hatch and Morgan roads at approximately 2:36 p.m. when he observed a gray Ford Explorer towing a trailer that did not have a license plate properly displayed. Officer Hatcher stopped driver, Jose Luis Valdez, 52, of Ceres and conducted a vehicle hull number check on the trailer. Officer Hatcher arrested Valdez under arrest for possession of stolen property and booked him into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
