Ezequiel Castellanos, 38, of Ceres, was arrested Saturday evening, March 21, after he was reported entering his girlfriend's house filled with kids attending a party, armed with a handgun.

Police were called to a home in the 3000 block of Seventh Street at 11 p.m. When officers arrived they saw Castellanos leaving in a black Chevy pickup and they stopped him. Castellanos told officers that he left the gun in the house and that he carried the gun to the house because he did not get along with his girlfriend's daughter's boyfriend.

Nobody wanted to press charges, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry, but because he had been previously convicted of domestic violence, which prohibits him from gun ownership, Castellanos was arrested. He was found with methamphetamine and was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. Castellanos was also charged with driving on a suspended license.
