A Modesto man who was wanted for murder by the Fresno Police Department was apprehended during a Ceres car stop made by Ceres Police Sgt. Vince Hooper early Friday.

At 12:38 a.m. Sgt. Hooper stopped a gray-colored Ford Fusion due to the vehicle having expired registration. Sergeant Hooper learned that driver Roberto Corchado, 27, of Modesto was wanted on the felony charge.

Corchado was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
