A report of a solo car crash in the 1349 Mitchell Road led to a Manteca driver being cited for DUI and other charges on Saturday evening.

At 8:30 p.m. Christopher Fredrick Dimenco, 35, of Manteca, was driving erratically down southbound Mitchell Road when his Chrysler Aspen sedan veered off the roadway on Mitchell near Finch Road and struck a fence. He continued back on the road nearly hitting several other vehicles along the way.  Dimenco drove the vehicle off the roadway again up the sidewalk and grass area in front of 1319 Mitchell Road, hitting a street sign and parked vehicles.

Officer Adam Hall noticed Dimenco appeared drunk and unable to walk by himself. Dimenco would not follow directions to remain seated for his safety and refused to answer questions. But when asked how much he had to drink he replied “a lot.”

While paramedics arrived to check Dimenco for injuries, Dimenco assaulted Community Service Officer David McCann in an aggressive manner. Dimenco was place on the ground and handcuffed and arrested.

Dimenco was transported to Doctors Medical Center where an evidentiary blood draw took place. Dimenco was issued a citation for misdemeanor DUI, resisting arrest, and battery on a peace officer before being left at the hospital.
